BROOKINGS – Clark defeated one more higher-seeded foe on Tuesday, but was unable to take down the final one, falling to Madison-Chester-Oldham-Ramona-Rutland in the title game of the State B High School Baseball Tournament.

The Dinosaurs edged Platte-Geddes-Dakota Christian-White Lake 1-0 in the semifinals before falling to Madison 7-2 in the championship.

Charlie Luvaas tossed a two-hitter against PGDCWL. One of those hits was a one-out double in the sixth, but Luvaas recorded back-to-back outs to end the threat.

Luvaas drove in the only run of the contest with a two-out single in the top of the sixth.

Madison set the tone in the title contest with four runs in the bottom of the first. Cale Johnson and Cohen Hahn each had two-run singles.

After the Dinosaurs clawed back to within 4-2 (one run produced on a Caleb Drenth RBI single), Madison tacked on four more runs to take control as Braylon Oftedal and Casyn Crabtree each drove in a pair.
