CLARK – Groton erased most of a five-run deficit in its final at-bat, but fell to Huron 5-4 in American Legion baseball during the Clark-Willow Lake Tournament on Saturday afternoon.

Groton scored four runs in the top of the seventh inning on an RBI single from Ryder Schelle, a sacrifice fly from Nick Groeblinghoff, and a two-run double from Karsten Fliehs. However, the squad stranded the game-tying run in scoring position.

Carter Simon had three hits for Groton, which outhit Huron by a 9-3 margin.
