Wings halt skid with win over Minot

MINOT, N.D. – The Aberdeen Wings scored the first three goals and then held off Minot 4-3 to snap a three-game losing streak in NAHL hockey action Saturday night.

Easton Edwards scored midway through the first period to give the Wings a lead they never lost. Matthew Martin added another first-period goal, and Sam Scheetz found the back of the net three minutes into the second period for a 3-0 lead.

The Minotauros then had back-to-back goals to close the gap heading into the final period.

Aberdeen received a key insurance goal from Jibber Kuhl midway through the third period. Minot added a goal in the final minute for the final score.

Brody Dustin had a pair of assists in the victory.

Aberdeen owned a slight 30-28 advantage in shots on goal. Willum Braun finished with 25 saves for the Wings.

Aberdeen will wrap up the regular season this coming weekend with a game at Watertown on Friday, before hosting the Shamrocks on Saturday night at the Odde Ice Center.

The playoffs will start the following weekend.
