WATERTOWN – A pair of local golfers claimed top 10 finishes during the Watertown Invitational Golf Tournament Tuesday at Cattail Crossing.
Aberdeen Roncalli’s Finn Anderson shot a round of 73 to finish fourth, while Jonathan DeBoer Milbank shot a 73 to finish seventh.
Charlie Swift of Harrisburg topped the field with a 68. Watertown edged Mitchell for the team title after both logged totals of 293. Roncalli was eighth as a team with 319, Aberdeen Central was 11th with a 331, and Milbank was 14th with a 344.
“It was a good day,” said Roncalli coach Jon Murdy. “Happy for Finn on finally shooting under par for an event. Think it has been one of his goals this year.”
Gannon May of Roncalli was 23rd with a total season low score of 79.
“Gannon May played well for us,” Murdy said, “finally shooting in the 70s, this year.”
Jesse Hernandez shot an 82 and Lucas Daggett finished with an 87.
“I liked what I saw from Jesse and Lucas as well,” Murdy said. “Didn’t have their best stuff today, but battled mentally through it for 18 holes to make sure to put a good score up for the team.”
Central was led by Jackson Ravellette and Cole Brust, each with rounds of 81. Ravellette finished 40th, and Brust was 45th.
