Harrisburg wins 16th straight in shutout over Central

HARRISBURG – Harrisburg exploded for a dozen runs in the bottom of the first inning and claimed its 16th consecutive win with a 17-0 decision over Aberdeen Central in Eastern South Dakota Conference softball action on Tuesday.

The Golden Eagles had back-to-back singles from Jovee Waldo and Abby Frank to start the game in the top of the first. They moved up to second and third with one out, but were stranded there after two straight strikeouts.

Harrisburg then produced 12 runs in the bottom half of the frame thanks in part two a pair of doubles, a triple and a home run.

The Tigers then tacked on five more runs in the second inning for the final margin of difference.

Central will close out the home portion of its schedule when it hosts Tea Area at 4 p.m. on Thursday at Koehler Hall of Fame Field.
