Big innings plague Central softball team

PIERRE – Aberdeen Central dropped a pair of non-conference softball games on Saturday.

Sioux Falls Washington scored 14 runs in the first inning of a 24-2 win over the Golden Eagles. Sioux Falls Roosevelt had an eight-run frame in a 15-0 victory over Central.

The Golden Eagles scored single runs in the first and third innings against Washington.

Jovee Waldo walked and came home on a double by Alivia Roettele in the first. Ezzy Beidler drove in a run with a double in the third for Central.

Josie Biteler hit three home runs to power Washington, which had 19 hits.

Central managed just one hit against Roosevelt, which broke open a tight game with eight runs in the second and five runs in the third.

Jovee Waldo had a two-out single in the third for the Golden Eagles.

Central will play at O’Gorman on Tuesday before hosting Brandon Valley on Thursday.
