Moore scores 41 points to lead NSU women over Duluth

DULUTH, Minn. – Northern State, behind two career-high point performances, knocked off Minnesota-Duluth 74-58 in women’s college basketball Saturday afternoon, handing the Bulldogs just their fifth loss in conference play.

Izzy Moore had a huge part in that, putting up a career-high 41 points, shooting 14-for-19 from the field, and 12-for-13 from the free-throw line during the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference contest. She also added eight rebounds.

Moore got off to a hot start, scoring the first eight points of the game as NSU bolted out to an eight-point lead.

The Bulldogs got back in the game in the second quarter thanks to seven unanswered points. The Wolves responded by outscoring Duluth 15-4 for the remainder of the second quarter. Moore had 12 points at the half.

The senior came out in the third quarter and nearly matched her first half total with 11 points in the period as the Wolves bulit a 50-36 lead. Moore then scored the final 14 points for the Wolves in an 18-point fourth quarter.

Freshman Reagan Rus finished with a career-high 19 points on the afternoon.

Northern shot 56.8% from the field.

Northern remains tied for seventh in conference with two games remaining.
