GETTYSBURG – Potter County won both individual titles and a team title at the Region 4B Cross Country Meet at the Gettysburg Country Club on Wednesday.
On the girls’ side, Potter County placed five runners in the top ten, including Dannika Kaup, who earned a first-place finish with a time of 19:12.60, followed by teammate Emma Schlachter (19:38.50) in second place. Jadyn Ahlemeier (4th), Paige Ahlemeier (6th), and Jaycee Stevens (8th) all placed in the top ten for the Battlers. The defending State B champion Battlers won the team title with a score of 7, followed by Herreid-Selby Area (22), Highmore-Harrold (33), Wessington Springs (35), and Lyman (56).
Highmore-Harrold’s Autumn Fallis finished in third place with a time of 19:49.10, while Herreid-Selby Area’s Katie Allbee finished in fifth place.

On the boys’ side, Potter County’s Nicholas Schlachter won the individual title with a time of 16:39.70, ahead of runner-up finisher Gavin Hirsch (17:08.60) of Herreid-Selby Area. Timber Lake’s Xavier Sanchez-Gonzalez finished third (18:20.70), followed by Sunshine Bible Academy’s Jimmy Burma (18:27.30) and Wakpala’s Martin Plenty Chief (18:33.70).
Highmore-Harrold won the team title with a score of 15, followed by Potter County (22), Sunshine Bible Academy (28), Herreid-Selby Area (28), and Lyman (33). For complete results, click on the following link:
