HARRISBURG – Another foe, another location, another shutout.
The Aberdeen Central boys’ soccer team dominated play in both halves and racked up an 8-0 win over Harrisburg in Eastern South Dakota Conference action on Saturday.
“I thought the boys played a very focused game today,” said Central coach Lance Mohr. “From the first whistle, they worked hard and really tried to implement some of the things we’ve been working on in training.”
Jelani Peters scored a goal just nine minutes into the contest and the Golden Eagles were off and running after that.
Sekou Gogue and Marcos Ramos Garcia each finished with two goals in the game.
Meanwhile, Central’s defense was air tight again as Camden Fauth recorded another shutout and the Eagles kept traffic away from him.
“The back line and their ability to deal with a team that plays very direct was really nice to see,” Mohr said.
Central, 7-1 on the season, plays host to Sioux Falls Roosevelt on Saturday at Swisher Field.
“Overall, a great team victory,” Mohr said, “and we were able to see a lot of different guys contribute to that.”
