Wings eliminate Minot in overtime thriller

Kyle Gaffney scored with 19 seconds left in overtime as the Aberdeen Wings eliminated Minot 4-3 in Game 5 of their Central Division semifinal playoff hockey matchup at the Odde Ice Center Sunday night.

The Wings will now face Bismarck in the Central Division Championship playoff series. The first game is Friday at the Odde.

Aberdeen led 3-1 heading into the third period against Minot, before the visitors closed to within one and eventually tied the contest with 28 seconds left in regulation.

The two squads played through nearly a full scoreless overtime, before Gaffney provided the game-winner.

The Wings also received goals from Nico DeVita, Clayton Cosentino and Natan Vertes.
