Members of the Aberdeen Swim Club made strides in and out of the pool during the annual High Point Swim Meet last weekend at the Aberdeen Aquatic Center.
“This meet went very well mindset-wise. A majority of our kiddos were able to come to us before and after races, and were able to discuss what they needed to work on, could work on more, or executed well,” said ASC coach Darien Street. “That was a very big step for us since we want to move further into the depth of what makes a race good or not, not just based on whether you dropped time or not.”
The Stingrays had numerous younger swimmers that performed well, some who are just getting started in the sport.
A pair of ACS swimmers ended up recording high point totals in their divisions. Rayna Anderson topped the 6 and Under girls’ division, while Logan Smith was first in the 9-10 boys’ division.
“We even had a few of our newer swimmers that have just started this year really show what the newer generation can bring to the sport,” Street said, “as well as how much they have improved.”
