FOREST LAKE, Minn. – The Aberdeen Wings wiped out a two-goal deficit and then used a late goal from Sam Scheetz to claim a 5-4 NAHL hockey win over the Minnesota Mallards Friday night.

Jibber Kuhl got the scoring started in the first period to give the Wings a lead. However, the hosts scored three unanswered goals to take a 3-1 advantage in the second period. Aberdeen responded with three straight goals of its own as Caden Lee scored back-to-back goals – one at the end of the second period and one to start the third – to tie the game and Herman Berggren found the back of the net to put the Wings up one.

After the Mallards tied the game, Scheetz produced the game winner with 5:21 remaining.

The Wings outshot Minnesota 32-26. Goalie Willum Braun collected 24 saves.

The same two teams are back on the ice this evening, capping a five-game road swing for Aberdeen. The Wings will be back home next week to host St. Cloud.
