The South Dakota Basketball Coaches Association has announced its regional winners for head coaches, assistant coaches and lower level coaches for the past season.

The North Central Region 1 recipients are head boys’ coach Paul Raasch of Langford Area, head girls’ coach Steve Sawinsky of Herreid-Selby Area, assistant boys’ coach Trent Kurtz of Aberdeen Central, and assistant girls’ coach Becky Erickson of Groton.

The North East Region 1 winners are head boys’ coaches Brendan Sheppard of Flandreau and Mark Amdahl of Waubay-Summit, head girls’ coach Brendon Pitts of De Smet, assistant boys’ coach Buster Vincent of Sioux Valley, and assistant girls’ coach Jaime Neuendorf of Hamlin.

The Region 1-4 lower level boys’ coach is Pat Kraning, Hamlin Education Center, and the lower level girls’ coach is Wendy Rausch, Potter County.

The other winners include:

Central Region 3 – Head boys’ coaches, Brian LaRoche of Lower Brule and Tim Buddenhagen of Huron; head girls’ coach, Tom McGough of Miller; assistant boys’ coach, Andrew Tuttle of Potter County; assistant girls’ coach, Wade Stobbs of Huron.

North West region 4 – Head boys’ coach, Kyle Courtney of Rapid City Christian; head girls’ coach, Brandon Kandolin of St. Thomas More; assistant boys’ coach, Adam Courtney of Rapid City Christian; assistant girls’ coach, Jennifer Reiners of Spearfish.

South East Region 5 – Head boys’ coach, Mike Begeman of Sioux Falls Roosevelt; head girls’ coach, Kent Kolsrud of O’Gorman; assistant boys’ coach, Ray Slaba of Hanson; assistant girls’ coach, Brook Begeman of Sioux Falls Christian.

Region 5-8 – Lower level boys’ coach, Kenedy Koepsell, Howard; lower level girls’ coach, Pete Egstad, Ben Reifel Gym.

South Region 6 – Head boys’ coach, Jason Kleis of Dakota Valley; head girls’ coach, Molly Mason of Viborg-Hurley; assistant boys’ coach, Jeff Neuharth of Elk Point-Jefferson; assistant girls’ coaches, Dana Bigge of Harrisburg, and Amy Long of Yankton.
