FLORENCE – Aberdeen Roncalli served up a straight-sets sweep of Florence-Henry Tuesday evening in non-conference volleyball contest. The Cavaliers won by set scores of 25-13, 25-20 and 25-19.

Roncalli was again aggressive from the service line, ending the night with seven aces as a team. McKenna O’Keefe and Maddie Huber led that effort with a pair of aces apiece.

“Overall sound effort for our squad,” said Roncalli coach Mandy Smid. “We played aggressively throughout.”

While that aggressive style inevitably led to some errors, it was a balanced attack for the Cavaliers. Ava Hanson and Jaidyn Feickert led the way with 14 and 13 kills, respectively, though they were joined in that category by several others.

“Several girls were able to have success with Ava and Jaidyn leading the push,” Smid said. “McKenna and Maddie had some great serve runs that gave us the advantage, as well.”

Camryn Bain paced a solid defensive effort with 19 digs, while Faith Danielson and Huber combined for 27 assists.

Florence-Henry was led by Caylin Kelly’s eight kills and 18 digs.

Roncalli will host Groton Thursday as part of its homecoming week festivities. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. at Roncalli Gym.
