HURON – The Aberdeen Cougars received goals from four different players on the way to a 4-1 boys’ hockey victory over the Huron All-Stars on Sunday afternoon.

Briggs Medill gave the Cougars a lead they never lost with a first-period goal. Remington Hosley then found the back of the net in the second period.

After Huron cut the deficit to a single goal in the third period, Aberdeen tacked on two more goals to close out the victory as Austin Schmit and Carter Vilhauer both scored for the Cougars.

Trayke Roehrich finished with two assists in the win.

The victory came on the heels of an overtime victory against Oahe on Saturday night.

“It was a good weekend for us. These were the games we needed to win if we want to make the state tournament, and the guys got it done,” said Aberdeen coach Dana Myhre. “Wasn’t necessarily pretty, but they did what they needed to do. Now hopefully we can keep this momentum going.”

The Cougars are back in action this weekend with games at Yankton on Saturday and Sunday.
