Minnesota Crookston scored the first five points of the game and never trailed on the way to a 68-48 women’s college basketball win over Northern State Thursday night.

The Wolves, who shot just 30.5 percent from the field, fell behind by double-digits in the opening quarter and never recovered. The visiting Golden Eagles outscored NSU in each quarter of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference contest at Wachs Arena.

Izzy Moore led Northern with 16 points. Morgan Fiedler, Megan Counts, and Reagan Rus each contributed six.

The Wolves, 12-11 overall and 7-10 in the NSIC, will host Minnesota State, Moorhead at 4 p.m. Saturday at Wachs Arena in another league contest.
