Northern State fell behind early and was never able to recover in a 78-51 setback to Concordia-St. Paul in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference women’s college basketball at Wachs Arena Saturday night.

The game was tied at 11-11 before CSP scored the final five points of the opening quarter and never trailed after that. The visitors opened a 14-point halftime lead and built on that in the second half.

The Golden Bears placed five players in double-figure scoring on the way to the victory.

NSU was led by Taylor Tool with 14 points, and Izzy Moore with 10. Carli Kuyper finished with eight.

CSP used its defense to help fuel the victory, scoring 17 points off turnovers, and collecting six blocks and six steals.

NSU, 10-8 overall and 5-7 in the NSIC, heads on the road this weekend, taking on Minnesota State on Friday, and St. Cloud State on Saturday.
