Wolves drop women’s game to Wayne State

WAYNE, Neb. – Northern State was unable to overcome a slow first half on the way to a 72-61 setback to Wayne State in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference women’s basketball game on Friday night.

The Wolves fell behind by 14 points at the break, following a 24-point first half. While they sliced into the margin in the second half, they were unable to complete a comeback.

Izzy Moore had her second straight double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds to lead NSU. Megan Counts contributed 18 points, and Taylor Tool finished with 12.

Northern, 8-7 overall and 3-6 in NSIC action, plays at Augustana this afternoon.
