Quick start fuels Wings in win over Mallards

The Aberdeen Wings scored a pair of goals within 15 seconds to set the tone in a 4-1 win over the Minnesota Mallards Saturday night in NAHL Hockey at the Odde Ice Center.

Caden Lee found the back of the net less than two minutes into the contest, before Matthew Martin added a goal just 15 seconds later for a 2-0 lead at the 17:52 mark of the opening period.

Owen Pitters added a second-period goal for the Wings, and Zan Spari-Leben rounded out the Aberdeen scoring in the third.

Easton Edwards assisted on a pair of goals for Aberdeen. Martin also assisted on a goal.

The Wings outshot the Mallards 35-16 with Adam Dybal finishing with 15 saves.

Aberdeen is on the road next weekend with games at St. Cloud, Minn. on Friday and Saturday.
