BRANDON – Aberdeen Central ran into one of the hottest teams in Class AA volleyball Thursday night and couldn’t slow it down.

Second-rated Brandon Valley won its 10th straight match, pulling away from the Golden Eagles in each of a 25-16, 25-14, 25-16 Eastern South Dakota Conference victory.

“Brandon has a lot of offensive weapons,” said Central coach Jackie Bindenagel. “We started each set pretty competitively, and Brandon went on a big run in the middle of each set, and we couldn’t close the gap after that.”

Not only were the Lynx potent on offense, they also prevented the Golden Eagles from going on big scoring runs.

Central managed just 15 total kills in the sweep, led by Kamdyn Borge with five. Kenadi Withers followed with four.

The Golden Eagles, 7-5 on the season, will host Tea Area on Tuesday at Golden Eagles Arena.
