Todd Thorson of Ipswich has been selected as the Girls’ Cross Country Coach of the Year by the South Dakota High School Coaches Association.

Thorson guided the Tigers to the Class B State Championship last fall. It was Thorson’s ninth state title with the girls’ program.

Other fall coaches of the year winners include:

Boys’ Golf, Kirk Hogen, Vermillion; Girls’ Tennis, Jason Olson, Rapid City Stevens; Boys’ Soccer, Jory Wipf, James Valley Christian; Girls’ Soccer, Tyler Schuring, Yankton; Cheer, Eva Langrock, Harrisburg; Dance, Ashley Hoffman, Brandon Valley; Boys’ Cross Country, Ralph Kroetch, Philip; Football, Lex Heathershaw, Wall; and Volleyball, Jean O’Hara, Chester.

The coaches will be honored at awards ceremony Sunday, July 19, at the Mitchell Performing Arts Center.
