Wolves picked to finish fifth in NSIC volleyball poll

BURNSVILLE, Minn. – Northern State was picked fifth in the Northern Sun Intercollege Conference Preseason Volleyball Coaches Poll. The Wolves had 170 points and Abby Schauer, formerly Meister, was chosen as NSU’s Player to Watch.

Defending NSIC regular season and tournament champion St. Cloud State was the preseason number one team with eight first-place votes and 212 points. Concordia-St. Paul was picked to finish second with four first-place votes and 208 points.

Southwest Minnesota State also received four first-place votes and picked third in the poll with 202 points. Wayne State was selected to finish fourth.

Schauer is a two-time All-NSIC first team selection. She was named Libero of the Year in 2024 with 578 digs (5.67 per set).

Ella Thompson of St. Cloud State was chosen as the Preseason Player of the Year.
