FAULKTON – Groton Locke Electric overcame an eight-run deficit and eventually recorded a walk-off win on a wild pitch in the 10th inning to defeat the Faulkton Hitmen 11-10 in postseason Amateur baseball action Thursday night.

Groton, which trailed 9-1 at one stage, was down to its last out in the bottom of the ninth before Ty Sieber had an RBI double and then scored on an error to tie the game.

That set up the bottom of the 10th where Ben Althoff singled, stole second, moved to third on an error, and scored on a wild pitch.

Faulkton scored three times in the first and later tacked on four more in the seventh for a big lead. Layne Cotton had a two-run home run in the seventh.

Groton then tallied seven runs in the bottom of the seventh to pull to within 9-8. Jonah Schmidt belted a grand slam home run, and Sieber drove in a run with a double.

Cotton hit a solo homer in the ninth to give Faulkton a two-run lead, before Groton tied the game in the bottom half of the frame.

Sieber and Althoff each had five hits, and Schmidt drove in four for Groton. Cotton finished with two hits, both homers, and knocked in three.
