Clark doubles up Flandreau for state tourney win

BRANDON – The Clark Traders built a four-run lead and then came up with a pair of insurance runs to turn back the Flandreau Blue Teal 6-3 in the State B Amateur Baseball Tournament on Friday evening.

The Traders, who were outhit 5-4, never trailed after putting up four runs in the fourth inning.

After an error allowed Grayson Florey to get to third, Bryce DesLauriers brought him in with a double. Braedon Zaug also reached on an error that allowed Jack Heesch to score. DesLauriers scored on a ground out, and another error allowed Zaug to cross the plate.

Flandreau got back in the game with three runs in the top of the sixth. However, Clark scored twice in the bottom half of the frame to regain momentum.

DesLauriers was involved in both of the runs, driving in the first and scoring the second on a ground out.

Hudson Fuller tossed a complete game for the Traders. He allowed just one hit in the final three innings. He gave up just five hits in all and no earned runs.

Neither team scored an earned run as Flandreau had six errors and Clark five.

DesLauriers ended the day going 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored.
