Alexandria blanks Lake Norden in State B opener

BRANDON – The Alexandria Angels scored multiple runs in all four innings and allowed just one hit in a 15-0 win over the Lake Norden Lakers during the opening round of the State B Amateur Baseball Tournament Wednesday night.

Alexandria scored six times in the bottom of the first, twice in the second, four more runs in the third, and then tacked on three more runs in the fourth.

Jerrod Zens and Pierce Smith each had a pair of hits for the Angels.

Kale Stevenson had Lake Norden’s lone hit, a single in the third inning.

Alex Ferrin walked a pair and struck out six in going the distance for Alexandria on the mound.
