Milbank pitching powers sweep over Sisseton

SISSETON – Milbank allowed just six hits over 12 innings in a doubleheader sweep over Sisseton in American Legion baseball on Tuesday.

Reese Rabe scattered three hits and struck out eight batters in a 6-0 first game victory. Josh Pederson fanned six batters in a 16-4 second game win. Joe Schulte came on in relief and added a pair of Ks.

Milbank scored runs in four different innings in the opener.

Nollen Sheeley had three hits for Milbank, while Pederson had a pair of doubles, and Schulte also added two hits.

Milbank overcame a 4-3 deficit to win the nightcap, scoring the final 13 runs.

Mack Koplin finished with four hits and knocked in five runs. He had RBI singles in the first, third and fifth innings, and added a two-run double in a 10-run fifth.

Aiden Kelly added three hits to the Milbank total.
