BRITTON – The Aberdeen Smittys won a rare tripleheader of sorts on Sunday, claiming American Legion baseball wins over three different opponents in an event at Britton.

The Smittys edged Platte-Geddes 2-1, blanked Milbank 15-0, and stopped the Britton Lumberjacks 10-5.

Aberdeen rallied from a 1-0 deficit with two runs in the win over Platte-Geddes. Karson Borge scored on a single by Lance Siefken to tie the game in the third, before Talan Dutenhoeffer and Borge hit back-to-back doubles to plate what proved to be the winning run in the fourth.

Joran Foss struck out seven batters and allowed just one earned run in five innings on the mound for the Smittys.

Aberdeen scored in all six innings in the victory over Milbank.

Jaxon Ladner had a two-run double in a four-run first inning and a two-run home run in a seven-run sixth frame.

Bryce Hawkinson and Colton Chapin each had a pair of hits to top the Lumberjacks.
