Simes hits for cycle in Northville win over Groton

NORTHVILLE – Carson Simes hit for the cycle, drove in four runs and scored four times as the Northville Merchants defeated Groton Locke Electric 11-5 in Amateur baseball action Tuesday night.

Simes tripled and scored on a single by Ashton Remily in the first inning, had an RBI double in the third, singled and scored on hit by Greg Heyne in the fourth, and belted a three-run home run in the eighth.

Kyle Stahl provided a two-run single in a fourth-run fourth inning.

Heyne and Max Waltman each added two hits for the Merchants.

Groton scored three two-out runs in the fourth as Ryan Groeblinghoff had a two-run single, and Cade Larson drove in a run.

Bradin Althoff, Ty Sieber, and Larson each had a pair of hits for Locke Electric.
