Lake Norden-Badger walks off Redfield

LAKE NORDEN – Lake Norden-Badger built a 9-2 lead over Redfield, lost it, and then recorded a walk-off 10-9 victory in American Legion baseball action on Saturday afternoon.

Turner Stevenson, Aiden Abraham and Jose Mahe each had run-scoring singles in the bottom of the first for the hosts. Redfield got two runs back in the top of the third, one on a Micah Zastrow RBI single.

Lake Norden-Badger then scored six unanswered runs, one in the third and five in the fourth, highlighted by Mahe’s bases-loaded double.

Redfield battled back to tie the score with two runs in the seventh and five in the eighth. Tate Bray and Jacksan Rude each delievered two-run singles in the eighth.

That set the stage for the bottom of the ninth when Mahe hit his second double of the game and scored the game-winning run on a single by Evan Schultz.

Mahe finished with three hits, and drove in four to lead the victory. Riggs Prouty, Turner Stevenson, Abraham, and Schultz each added two hits to the Lake Norden-Badger 15-hit total.
