Early runs help lift Redfield DQ past Parkston

PARKSTON – Redfield Dairy Queen scored six runs in each of the first two innings in a pair of Amateur baseball wins on Saturday. DQ scored two runs in the first and four runs in the second in a 12-3 win over the Parkston Mudcats, and scored three runs in both the first and second frames in an 8-2 win over the Parkston Rays.

Camden Osborn had a sacrifice fly, and Bennett Osborn and Peyton Osborn each had RBI singles in the four-run second inning against the Mudcats. Noah Hainy homered and Camden Osborn drove in a run with a single in a two-run sixth, and Eli Morrisette doubled in a run in a three-run seventh.

Camden Osborn, Peyton Osborn, Bennett Osborn, Hainy, and Morrissette all had two hits in Redfield’s 13-hit attack. Peyton Osborn threw a complete game in the victory.

Peyton Osborn belted a three-run home run in the top of the first inning for all the runs DQ would need against the Rays. Camden Osborn and Peyton Osborn each had RBI singles in the second inning.

The two squads then split four runs the rest of the contest.

Camden Osborn and Keith Gall each had three hits for DQ, while Owen Osborn and Peyton Osborn each had two hits. Peyton Osborn drove in four runs.

A pair of Redfield pitchers combined on a four-hitter and struck out 13 batters. Hainy fanned seven batters and Nolan Gall finished with six.
