NORTHVLLE – Warner-Ipswich-Northwestern jumped out to a three-run lead and made it stand up for a 5-2 high school baseball victory over Sioux Valley on Sunday.
Mac Heinz had a two-run double in the bottom of the second inning to give W-I-N a lead it never lost. Alec Mikkelsen added an RBI single in the third, Beckett Halvorson delivered a sacrifice fly in the fourth, and Devon Fischbach doubled to lead off the fifth and later scored on a ground out.
Logan Fischbach struck out seven batters in four innings on the mound before being relieved by Brayden Kroll.
Devon Fischbach and Mikkelsen each had two hits in the victory, while Heinz drove in a pair.
