Redfield outscores Faulkton for baseball victory

FAULKTON – Redfield took advantage of nine hits, nine walks and 15 stolen bases on the way to a 12-8 high school baseball win over Faulkton on Monday night.

The Muskrats scored four runs in the top of the first inning as Neal Salmen drove in a pair, and Micah Zastrow and Noah Johnson also had RBI hits. Faulkton cut the margin in half in the bottom of the first.

Redfield added two more runs in the second, before Faulkton responded with three runs in the bottom half of the frame, two coming in on Hollis Fawcett’s two-run double.

The Muskrats tacked on three more runs in the third to gain some separation. Zastrow had an RBI single and Johnson added a sacrifice fly.

The two teams then evenly divided six runs the rest of the way for the final margin of difference.

Zastrow, Johnson, and Hudson Binger each had two hits. Zastrow, Johnson, and Salmen each drove in a pair. Zastrow also scored three runs.
