EUREKA – The North Central Thunder track and field squads capped a memorable week of action by recording their second meet sweep in the past three days by claiming titles at the Eureka Legion meet on Saturday. The squads also swept the Yellowstone Trail Conference meet on Thursday.
Jared Wherry led the North Central boys by winning the 110-meter high hurdles and 300-meter intermediate hurdles. Gabe Johnson won the 3,200-meter run, while Timothy Rucker topped the field in the high jump. Rucker was also second in the triple jump, and ran on a second-place sprint medley relay squad.
Highmore-Harrold’s Brooks McPeak won both the 800-meter relay and 1,600-meter relay.
Jaydee Stevens of Potter County was a double open event winner on the girls’ side, capturing both the 1,600-meter run and the 3,200-meter run.
