Class AA Track and Field Leaders

Aberdeen Central continues to be among the statewide leaders in the shot put and hurdles in this week’s Class AA track and field leaders.

In the boys’ division, Kyson Fayant is second in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles, while Joran Foss is third in the shot put. In the girls’ division, Taryn Hermansen tops the field in the shot put, while Mya Arampatzis is second in the 100-meter hurdles.

The Golden Eagles have three other girls among the top eight in their respective events. In the pole vault Jaidyn Forsyth is ranked fourth and teammate Breckan Santjer is eighth. Defending state champion Gracie Rife is currently sixth in the 100-meter dash.

Central also has a pair of boys’ relay teams among the state leaders. The Golden Eagles are fourth in the 1,600-meter relay, and seventh in the 400-meter relay.
