SIOUX FALLS – Aberdeen Central wrapped up a weekend softball trip in Sioux Falls with a pair of setbacks on Saturday.
The Golden Eagles fell to Sioux Falls Washington 17-0 and lost to Sioux Falls Roosevelt 11-0.
Despite managing just two hits total in the sweep, Central coach Cassidy Neer said the Golden Eagles had positive things to take away from the setbacks.
“We had a very high energy with nothing but great take aways,” Neer said. “We had outstanding defense and aggressive baserunning. Energy was high from start to finish.”
Washington made the most of its at-bats against the Golden Eagles, collecting five hits in a six-run first inning, eight hits in an eight-run second frame, and three hits in a three-run third inning that ended on a one-out three-run home run.
Central plays at Brandon Valley on Thursday, before hosting O’Gorman and Harrisburg the following Monday and Tuesday at Koehler Hall of Fame Field.
