Area athletes compete in all-star basketball games

SIOUX FALLS – A group of area athletes wrapped up their high school basketball careers by competing in the South Dakota Basketball Coaches Association all-star basketball games Sunday at the Sanford Pentagon.

The Blue squad won the boys’ game 116-107. Castlewood standout Brian Laue scored 18 points, while Hamlin’s Evan Stormo added 11. Julius Frog of Rapid City Christian led the team with 26 points.

Easton Neuendorf of Hamlin had a dozen points for the White squad. The team was led by Winner’s Shawn Hammerbeck with 16.

Sisseton’s Krista Langager scored 12 points for the White squad in its 93-80 victory over the Blue team. The White team was led by Grace Pederson of Sioux Falls Washington with 16 points.

Brooke Jensen of Vermillion topped the Blue squad with 24 points.
