Ipswich girls first, boys second at Charger Invitational

ONIDA – Ipswich topped the girls’ team standings and was runner-up in the boys’ division during the Charger Invitational track and field meet on Tuesday.

Ipswich’s Kyle Hettich played a role in three victories for the Tigers, winning the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes, and running on the winning 400-meter relay squad.

Faulkton’s Spencer Melius won the 110-meter high hurdles and the 300-meter intermediate hurdles, while North Central’s Gabe Johnson won the 1,600-meter and 3,200-meter runs.

In the girls’ division, Emma Schneider of Hitchcock-Tulare won the long jump and the triple jump. Breanna Jochim of Herreid-Selby Area won the 100-meter dash, and was a member of the first place 400-meter and 800-meter relay teams.
