Smith nets 31 points in NSU win over Crookston

CROOKSTON, Minn. – Marshawn Smith poured in 31 points to lead Northern State to an 86-67 men’s college basketball win over Minnesota Crookston on Saturday afternoon.

Smith shot 14 of 18 from the field on the way to his game-high point total.

Joshua Book added 13 points, Ty Rogers followed with 11, Nelson Reynolds contributed 10, and Tobi Obiora finished with nine points and 13 rebounds.

The Wolves are now 4-8 overall and 4-3 in the NSIC. Northern will host Black Hills State at 1 p.m. New Year’s Day at Wachs Arena.
