Northern men fall despite balanced attack

BETHANY, Okla. – Northern State received at least seven points from six different players, but it wasn’t quite enough as the Wolves fell to Southern Nazerene 72-66 in men’s college basketball Saturday night.

Benjamin Bowen and Ty Rogers each scored 13 points for the Wolves, who stayed within striking distance until the closing minutes. Nelson Reynolds added 11 points, Cameron Mercadel followed with 10, and Joshua Book and Marshawn Smith each contributed seven. NSU was outrebounded by a 48-34 margin.

The Wolves, 0-2 on the young season, continue on the road this coming weekend with games against Northern Michigan on Friday and Northwest Missouri State on Saturday at Wisconsin Dells.

NSU has its home opener on Tuesday, Nov. 26 against Jamestown.
