Central golfers lower team score at State AA golf tourney

RAPID CITY – Aberdeen Central dropped six strokes off its team score from the opening round during the final day of the State AA Golf Tournament at Meadow Brook Golf Course in Rapid City on Tuesday.

The Golden Eagles finished with a two-day total of 676, good for a 15th place finish in the team standings.

Central was led by Jackson Ravellette, who tied for 32nd. Ravellette shot a 77 during the final round for a 36-hole total of 159. Teammates Kalen Larson (170) tied for 75th, and Cole Brust (171) tied for 79th.

Harrisburg won the state team championship by six strokes over runner-up O’Gorman.

OG’s Taten Mauney won the individual state championship with a 142. Four golfers finished five strokes off the pace: Braxton Hollan of Sioux Falls Lincoln, Tyson Lunn of Brookings, Charlie Swift of Harrisburg, and Jayden Antonen of O’Gorman.
