Ipswich girls, North Central boys win team titles at Faulkton meet

FAULKTON – The Ipswich girls had five of the top six finishers in the girls’ division to claim the team title, while North Central edged Frederick by three points in the boys’ division during the Faulkton Lakeside Invitational Cross Country Meet on Wednesday.

Northwestern’s Ella Boekeleheide, who recorded her 1,000th career dig in volleyball on Tuesday night, won the girls’ individual title, while Gavin Hirsch of Herreid-Selby Area won the boys’ race.

Ipswich runners finished second through sixth in the girls’ division, led by runner-up Madisyn Gellhaus. She was followed in order by teammates Kalynn Oban, Jayla Stiles, Isabella Galbraith, and Jennay Gisi.

Faulkton’s Korbin Stark was second in the boys’ race. Frederick’s Titus Kippley and Howard Sumption were fourth and fifth, respectively. North Central runners Avery Wells and Aaron Ingerson both recorded top 10 finishes to help lead the Thunder to the team title.
