BRANDON – Castlewood’s quest for a state championship came to an end Saturday night in a 5-0 setback to the Humboldt-Hartford Gamecocks during the semifinals of the State B Amateur Baseball Tournament.

The Gamecocks scored all the runs they needed in the second on a sacrifice fly and an RBI triple by Cam Quigley. Humboldt-Hartford had a runner thrown out at the plate in the fame.

The Gamecocks doubled their margin with two more runs in the fifth on a two-run double by Joe Hanisch. They added another run in the eighth.

Alex Gauer had a pair of hits to lead Castlewood. The Ravens received a strong pitching performance by Aidan Stewart, who came on in relief to throw 3 and 2/3 innings, allowing just one hit, while striking out six.
