A look back at some of the sports happenings during the week of April 20-26, 2025:

Last year on April 20, 2024: Max Otto pitched NSU to a 19-9 win over Bemidji with 10 strikeouts. Otto now has the career strikeout record for the Wolves with 243. Luke Chevalier set the previous record of 230 in 2019.

10 years ago on April 20, 2015: Aberdeen Central coach Rocky Burkett was named NSU wrestling coach to help the school revitalize a program it suspended/ended twice in the past 15 years.

20 years ago on April 23, 2005: NSU added rodeo as a varsity sport starting in the spring of 2006.

30 years ago on April 22, 1995: The NFL expansion Jacksonville Jaguars picked Augustana linebacker Bryan Schwartz with the 64th pick in the second round of the draft. Schwartz is a 1990 Miller High School graduate.

40 years ago on April 20, 1985: Rod DeHaven (1,500 meters) and Joe Flannery (3,000-meter steeplechase) of SDSU won titles at the Kansas Relays in Lawrence.

50 years ago on April 20, 1975: Reporting to Coach Gary Boner’s South Dakota Tech football team for spring drills were 55 players. That is the largest number of players in school history.
