Sully Buttes up five spots in Class B boys’ poll

Sully Buttes made a major jump in Class B in this week’s Prep Media basketball polls.

The unbeaten Chargers moved from ninth to fourth over the holidays. Castlewood, which lost to Hamlin, fell from first to third. Viborg-Hurley took over the top spot in Class B. Aberdeen Christian remained fifth and Ipswich is receiving votes.

Clark-Willow Lake remained third in Class A, while Hamlin moved up two spots to eighth, and Groton fell three positions to ninth.

Sioux Falls Christian remained the top-rated team in Class A, while Sioux Falls Lincoln retained its position atop Class AA.

The South Dakota Prep Media Basketball Poll for the week of Jan. 5 is listed below, ranking the top-10 teams, the team’s record, points received and ranking in the previous poll. First-place votes are listed in parentheses.
