Wolves drop women’s game to Crookston

CROOKSTON, Minn. – Northern State fell behind early, and while the Wolves rallied, they were never able to get over the hump on Saturday afternoon.

NSU fells to Minnesota Crookston 65-58 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference women’s college basketball.

The Wolves were outscored 16-9 in the opening period and trailed 44-28 at the half.

Northern fought back and eventually closed the margin down to a single point in the final quarter, but the Wolves were never able to take the lead before the Eagles iced the game down the stretch.

Lily Klein had 14 points and 10 rebounds to lead NSU, and Reagan Rus finished with 11. Izzy Moore contributed a team-leading 11 rebounds.

Northern, 6-6 overall and 2-5 in the NSIC, is now off for the holidays. The Wolves play at Jamestown on Saturday, Jan. 3.
