Wings rack up eight goals in win over Mallards

The Aberdeen Wings scored three times in each of the first two periods on the way to an 8-1 win over the Minnesota Mallards in NAHL hockey Friday night at the Odde Ice Center.

Sam Scheetz scored once in the first period, before tacking on two more goals in the second period. Easton Edwards and Jibber Kuhl also found the back of the net in the opening period to help set the tone for the Wings.

Price Grimes added a second-period goal, before Anthony Ciaramitaro and Keeton Weis capped the Aberdeen scoring with two goals in the final period.

Jonathan Doucette finished with three assists on the evening.

The Wings outshot Minnesota 41-28. Willum Braun had 27 saves in goal for Aberdeen.

The same two teams are back in action tonight at the Odde. Puck drop is set for 7:15.
