Third-quarter surge lifts Duluth past NSU women

Minnesota-Duluth used a 28-17 third-quarter burst to rally past Northern State Thursday night at Wachs Arena.

The Wolves led 28-24 at halftime before Duluth seized the momentum in the third period on the way to a 69-63 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference women’s basketball victory.

Izzy Moore led NSU with 22 points on the night. Megan Counts followed with 14, and Regan Rus contributed 12.

Northern, now 5-4 on the season, slipped to 1-3 in NSIC action. The Wolves will take on another league foe Saturday when Bemidji State comes to town. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. at Wachs Arena.
