SELBY – In a match that featured plenty of twists and turns, Herreid-Selby Area found the path to victory in a marathon against Aberdeen Roncalli Tuesday night.

The Wolverines edged Roncalli 25-27, 25-19, 18-25, 25-22, 15-10 in non-conference volleyball action in the regular-season finale for both teams.

“Honestly, tonight we knew was going to be a tough matchup,” said Roncalli coach Leesa Ware, “and we knew Herreid-Selby is a strong offensive and defensive team, but we played some of our best volleyball.”

The Cavaliers pulled out the first set in extra points, before HSA evened the match by taking the second set.

Again, Roncalli took a set lead by grabbing the third set and the Wolverines won the fourth to force a deciding fifth set. The Wolverines secured that set to capture the match.

HSA’s Jordyn Rossow led all players with 25 kills, while Breanna Jochim contributed 20. The Wolverines capped their regular season with a 23-6 record.
