LANGFORD – Aberdeen Christian dispatched Langford Area in straight sets to hand head coach Sally Stoebner her second career coaching victory Tuesday night, defeating the Lions by set scores of 25-18, 25-23 and 25-11 in Lake Region Conference volleyball action.
The Knights used a stellar night at the service line in the winning effort, recording 12 team aces. Sophia Eichler had six of those, while Jolie Fogarty chimed in with another five.
Ari Johnson had nine kills to lead the way at the net. Fogarty added seven kills and a team-high 17 digs in an all-around effort.
“It was an awesome game,” Gaul said. “We got it done from the service line tonight.”
Lizzie Gustafson led the way for the Lions with an all-around effort, notching three service aces, four kills, 14 digs and a pair of blocks. Emily Olson recorded a team-best nine kills and three blocks at the net.
The win moves Christian to an even 2-2 on the season. The Knights remain on the road Thursday to face a 6-2 North Central squad in Eureka.
Langford Area, now 3-4 on the season, will host Florence-Henry on Thursday.
