IPSWICH – Second-rated Warner rallied from a 22-point deficit to grab a 36-30 Lake Region Conference win over Ipswich in a battle of Class 9A football powers Friday night.

“We have a young group that is getting their first taste of big-time football games,” said Warner coach Derek Hoellein. “We didn’t get off the bus tonight, but we regrouped at halftime and got back to Warner football. … We grew up tonight.”

Chays Mansfield fired a 44-yard touchdown strike to Jesiah Baum for the game-winning touchdown to cap a 36-point second-half surge.

Baum also scored on a short TD run and a 75-yard punt return.

Casey Geditz rushed for 143 yards and a pair of touchdowns for the Ipswich. Kyle Hettich returned the opening kickoff of the second half for a 90-yard TD.
